Lafayette Post 149 Commander Dennis Hanson holds one red rose to present to the widow of Sgt. Roy A. Smith, who was honored during Monday's Lafayette Huse Veteran Memorial Ground Breaking Service in Fayetteville. Smith was a World War II Veteran from Fayette County who helped storm the beaches of Normandy.
