Area residents Nicole and Jay Childress exit Stratton Elementary after casting their votes on the $22 million continuing levy and $39 million bond call Saturday afternoon. Serving as an official polling place, stakes were especially high for the aging elementary school Saturday, as passage of the $39 bond call will allow for a new, state of the art building, as well as numerous other upgrades to area schools that are badly needed.
