Rocket Boy Roy Lee Cooke describes what the old slate dump used for launching their rockets looked like back in 1957 when the gang discovered the place during a guided tour of Coalwood October 5. The two shelters at left weren't there at the time, and a railroad used to run along a creek hidden behind the woodline behind Cooke. The boys would sometimes use the railroad tracks to access the field.
