A bumblebee is hard at work collecting pollen and indulging in the sweet nectars of a passion flower Wednesday afternoon in the yard of a residence off Maxwell Hill Road in Beckley. The viney plant with just a handful of blooms attracts a number of different insects and hummingbirds, making it ideal for people who love watching nature. It's also widely used for medicinal purposes, with its extracts being utilized against symptoms of insomnia, anxiety, epilepsy, hysteria and even high blood pressure.
