Young slot car racers (from left) R.J. Smith, Gray Bowyer and Henry Hornsby III show off their cars Saturday night. While all three regularly achieve racing glory at Dirt Slotz, Hornsby, 15, is an actual race car driver who pilots a "crate late model" dirt car that looks exactly like the slot car he's holding. His Dirt Slotz car is a replica of the one he drives for real at places like the Beckley Motor Speedway and other tracks he's raced at along the East coast over his two-year career.
