Beckley resident David Sparks, left, gets a marker to sign the name of his grandmother, Macel Sparks, onto a yellow flower he picked out prior to this year's Beckley and Oak Hill regional Walk to End Alzheimer's event Saturday morning at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center. Participants had four different colors of flower to choose from based on their personal experience with the disease. Yellow, the one Sparks selected, represents caregivers and supporters of loved ones who have it. Blue represents those currently diagnosed with it, orange stands for supporters of the cause to eliminate the disease and purple represents those who have lost loved ones to Alzheimer's.
