(Brad Davis/The Register-Herald) Valley College students and others release over a hundred pink balloons into the air during a breast cancer awareness month event Wednesday afternoon at Jim Word Memorial Park. Around 25 students and a few firefighters from Mt. Hope and Clear Creek fire departments made the walk all the way from the school's location beside Ollie's, up Kanawha Street to the park and released a balloon for each friend or family member affected by the disease.
