(Brad Davis/The Register-Herald) Citizens take part in a moment of silence during a candlelight vigil for victims of hate and violence that unfolded during the weekend in Charlottesville, Va., as well victims of hate and violence around the country Wednesday night at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Beckley. The event featured several speakers including Joan C. Browning, one of nine Albany (Georgia) Freedom Riders, and an open forum with a panel of local leaders discussing race relations and other key issues at the conclusion.
