Read More(Brad Davis/The Register-Herald) Mt. Hope residents Ramona Brown, right, and Dolly Lilly spend a Sunday painting what will eventually be a scene of hot air balloons in an afternoon sky using acrylics on canvas as instructor Lynsi Boyd helps them with tips and tricks during a studio painting session at 110 Marshall in Beckley. The art studio and music venue usually has similar paiting parties on Friday nights scattered throughout the year, including some Sundays. Painting sessions are often themed in a variety of ways designed to help painters build skills in painting certain types of objects or textures, with yesterday's being "Up, Up an Away" in reference to the balloons. Similar upcoming painting events will be "Peaceful River" on Monday, March 27 at 6:00 p.m. and "Angel Wings" Friday, April 7 at 6 p.m. Keep an eye on their facebook page or give them a call at 304-634-8367.
