(Brad Davis/The Register-Herald) Cherokee warrior Ostenaco (1703-1780), a.k.a. Hurricane resident Doug Wood, a character actor with the West Virginia Humanities Council, tells the story of his life during a special Living History presentation put on by the WVHC, the city of Beckley and the Raleigh County Historical Society Sunday afternoon at Wildwood House. Ostenaco, also known by his warrior name Utsidihi, or "Man Killer," was most well known as great orator and a leading figure in diplomacy with British colonial authorities, as well as fighting against the French during the period.
