(Brad Davis/The Register-Herald) Crescent Elementary School students read together during the school's Read-a-Thon fundraiser Wednesday afternoon. The event was a different take on fundraising where every child got sponsors and collected donations in the hopes of raising a combined $5,000 towards playground equipment and other support items. Participating students then gathered Wednesday in the gym with a pillow and blanket to cozy up with as they read and were read to by their teachers.
