Drop-In Center

Volunteers Suzy-Sky Maseko and Andrew Sacrinty from Praying Pelican Missions help paint the walls of what will be a new Drop-In center in Rainelle Tuesday. The drop-in center, which is part of the Valley Works program, will provide a free thrift store, a soup kitchen, laundry and shower facilities with the end goal of helping individuals find employment. Funding for the project is coming from a $100,000 federal grant, which is part of the the FY2024 Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) funding bill. The plans are for the Drop-In Center to be opened this fall.
